Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after the town she grew up in. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's dad was born into the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are the half siblings of Ryder. Ryder's parents moved her along with their children in Mendocino County California when Ryder was seven years old. In those days, there were no electric lights. Ryder would read extensively due to the lack of television. Ryder started taking acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre when she reached the age of 12. Lucas, a 1986 film that she was in, was her debut major part. Ryder was only fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder was bullied at high school. Ryder hoped the acting profession would alter this. It didn't turn out. But she continued to chase her dreams. In 1988, in the year Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that gave her her first big break. Ryder kept playing successful roles in several movies. In 1993, she received an Academy Prize for The Age of Innocence.
